Known for his super realistic illustrative style, Mel Ramos have gained popularity with his involvement with the California Pop movement. Ramos is well respeted for his portraits of women and nude which is unlike the classical portraits of women and his works convey affection and celebration rather than to ridicule his subject matter. Also his pin up girl style illustrations are often composed with larger than life objects that make the girls look more comic like and some what a commercial feel. Fabrik Contemporary Art in Hong Kong will showcase Ramos’ works in an exhibition titled Power of Women from mid November.
