After Taipei and Beijing, Nike’s “This Is My Hood” Exhibition to promote and celerbate the AW77 hoodie has also opened in the international hub of Hong Kong last night. For the leg in Hong Kong, Nike sought out SILLYTHING, Wyman and Coney Ko to help create exhibits to translate the AW77 into art.
For SILLYTHING’s space in Creative Space, the design collective aptly named it “LOOP” after Loopwheeler who produced the new AW77 hoodies. Taking a different spin on SILLYTHING’s work for the “This Is My Hood” Exhibition in Taipei which was based on the digital, the exhibition in Hong Kong is built around the analogue. Paying meticulous attention to craftsmanship and details, synonymous to the work of Loopwheeler, the space is made of up installations of specimen, experiment and apparatus. Some of the installations are created with analog optical illusion experiments in mind that invite viewers to participate.
Other than the exhibit itself which will be up and running from now till Dec 17, an after party was also held with Mademoiselle Yulia spinning to celebrate the exhibition.
Do drop by and visit SILLYTHING’s exhibit at Creative Space and Nike Sportswear Store for the other part of the exhibition if you are in town. Images via: Think-Silly
