The unexpected passing of Adam Goldstein, or better known as DJ AM, this Summer not only left a void within the music industry. The tightly knit community of sneaker aficionados also lost a friend. In honor of all DJ AM meant to his fans, friends, and family, online auctioneer eBay, DECKSTAR, and UNDFTD will be hosting a sneaker auction charity event starting tomorrow. On the docket will be DJ AM’s personal collection, which took around 10 years to amassed and numbered around 900+ pairs. Numerous rare and highly sough after editions such as the recent Air Yeezy by Nike Sportswear and Kanye West, infamous riot-inducing Pigeon Dunks by Jeff Staple, and Stash’s Air Max 95. Others include What The Dunk, KAWS BAPESTA, early models of visvim, countless Air Jordans and DJ AM’s own signature edition. Since it will be impossible to accommodate all of the sneakers, new ones will be added to the online auction micro-site on a nightly basis till the first week of December.
100% of the proceeds from the auction will go towards the DJ AM Memorial Fund, a foundation setup to help those struggling through dependency and addiction. Many times a private and very personal battle, the money raised will assist in only prevention, but rehabilitation and subsequent recovery. The DJ AM Charity Auction will start promptly tomorrow, November 15th, at 4:30 pm PST (7:30 pm EST)
