NEIGHBORHOOD x Kishidan – NEIGHBORHOOD 15th Anniversary Tee

By - November 26th, 2009

Japan’s NEIGHBORHOOD (NBHD) turns 15, and is onto a project to create 15 different tees for the happy occasion. As a part of the birthday celebration (other than a banging party which went down at Womb a few days ago) the label collaborated with the retro J-Pop band, Kishidan, on both a tee and a guest performance by the latter at the former’s birthday bash. A fun background info on Kishidan– the band members dress up in Japanese school uniform in style of the bosozoku (a Japanese subculture related with motorcycle gangs). As such, the collaboration is a happy and matching matrimony since both parties are rooted in the biker culture. For the collaborative anniversary tee, the design is kept simple with a large graphic logo on the front featuring skulls and cross bones with “CRYPT KISHIDAN” text. On the back, a tag line of “FROM R127 HEAVEN TO R127 HELL” keeps the tee tough– not that the skull on the front wasn’t sufficiently taunting. The tee comes in two colorways–black and grey. The grey version is a special edition that is only available through NEIGHBORHOOD (NBHD) webstore, while the black one will be more widely available through retailers such as hnyee.Store. via: honeyee
