Collaborations are not a new phenomenon in the current market however this type of reconstruction is something unorthodox to any market. Famed Japanese fashion designer Junya Watanabe is said to have purchased the Carhartt jackets and reconstructed them himself which makes this an unofficial collaboration with Carhartt.
Only 100 pieces are said to be reconstructed in Japan and this radical idea has turned up mysteriously at Dover Street Market and baffled even its staff who was not notified of its existence. This remake resembles a blazer rather than work jacket and is highlighted by a bright safety orange collar, elbow patch and custom lining. Via TheNonPlace
