This year marks the 30th anniversary of i-D Magazine, one of the quintessential publications for the design industry. To commemorate the i-D Magazine's three decades in business, the magazine is bringing back fashion photographer (and Director of fashion media company, SHOWstudio) Nick Knight and 100 Portraits, the doyen's photography project for i-D Magazine's 5th Anniversary. For those who are unfamiliar, Nick Knight has been a staple in the fashion industry and his portfolio includes an impressive line-up of editorial work with Vogue, Dazed and Confused, i-D...and so forth, and campaigns with names such as Yohji Yamamoto, Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, Jil Sander, Audi. Known for his experimental and innovative vision that operates outside the confines of convention, Nick Knight took an exponential rise to fame since he graduated from Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design in 1982.
25 years after his first 100 Portraits project with i-D Magazine, the current mirroring venture continues to host a large collective of creative individuals ranging from models to musicians, stylists to editors and actors. So far, the name list includes Kate Moss, Alexander McQueen, Naomi Campbell, Christopher Kane, Gareth Pugh and Leona Lewis. For a span of 20 days from Dec. 1 to Dec. 20, Knight will be photographing individuals live at the Somerset House where visitors will be able to view the shoot via: a two-way mirror. One of the musicians who have made the list is the global singing and fashion sensation, Lady Gaga. The photo shoot with Mademoiselle Gaga just wrapped today, and for those who wasn't able to catch the live broadcast of the shoot, SHOWstudio have released some preview images. Take a look at Lady Gaga through Knight's lenses and check out what the photographer saw in the lady who never fails to surprise and awe. via: SHOWstudio
