Italian luxury knitwear label, Missoni, is taking their zig-zags off the runway and to the streets with one of sneakers’ quintessential models, the Converse Chuck Taylor Hi-Top. First spotted on one of the Missoni family members at the label’s runway presentation in June, these colorful printed kicks will be making their way to stores next April. The pattern and colors used on the hi-tops are draw from the label’s Men’s Fall/Winter 2009 line. While the upper is rendered happily vibrant, the multicolored print is contrasted with all-white toe cap and soles; meanwhile, the iconic circle logo patch is crafted with a luxe touch using brown leather. According to Creative Director Angela Missoni, the decision to use Chuck Taylor as a canvas seems simple enough–” It’s mythical to me; [it’s] the one that girls and boys of all time have liked to wear and is still coolest today”. The matrimonial sneaker product of Missoni and Converse is sure to become a fast favorite drawing fans from both crowds, and we suspect will be hitting it off with summer staples such as tribal prints, full-leg cropped light cotton pants, and of course, the all time favorite blues. Expect to see them at Missoni boutiques in New York and Beverly Hills, high-end retailer Jeffery’s and select boutiques around the world. via: LA Times Blog
