In honor of Shaun White‘s pursuit of back-to-back gold medals in the Men’s half-pipe event at this year’s Winter Olympics, Target has dedicated nine billboard panels of monumental proportions in Times Square. Located in the heart of New York City, the nine panels wrap around 7th and 8th Avenues connecting at 42nd street.
Working closely with Target, Shaun and his brother Jesse wanted to express Shaun’s personality in the designs, his love for the sport and his general enthusiasm for the winter season. There’s an endless amount of activities in this winter wonderland, both innocent and ironic: bears playing hockey, people preparing for a polar bear plunge, kids sliding down on an inflatable raft, snowmen making snowmen and, of course, an inverted Shaun White.
Come February, the nine panel billboards will be dressed in a new design to keep viewers excited about Shaun’s arrival at the Winter Olympics. Also, keep an eye out for “Go Shaun’ t-shirts along with his apparel collection, available at Target. Pick one up and show your support!
