It is in time of crisis when truth about humanity shines through, and sometimes, people’s generosity and empathy are overwhelming and beautiful. Aside from previous reported relief efforts from UNCOMMON and Play Cloths, Linkin Park’s non-profit organization, Music For Relief, has rallied some of the most influential and popular artists to put together a compilation of tracks to help raise funds for the victims of the devastating Haiti earthquake.
Since Music for Relief’s inception in 2005, the organization had raised over $3 million for victims of natural disasters all over the world and planted over 810,000 trees to help reduce global warming.
The album of ten tracks includes unreleased creations from Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morissette, Slash, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Kenna, Enrique Iglesias and Lupe Fiasco. This partnership also extends to United Nations Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and Dave Matthews Band’s BAMA Works, where the group works together with Music for Relief to provide people with immediate aid of food, water, medical supplies and also long-term sustainable housing solutions for the victims.
On another note, the album artwork is created by Casey Ryder of Studio Number One and a relief effort tee featuring the same bright, Haiti-inspired graphics, is now available for purchase via: Cafe Press. All proceeds from the tee will go to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and the U.N. children’s charity that is helping provide immediate aid in Haiti as well.
Please download the album and don’t forget to donate after it has found permanent residence in your hard drive! Support a good cause, be a part of the world we all live in and help our fellow friends in need!
