This summer, the world’s most popular sporting event will be coming to Africa as the nation of South Africa hosts the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In part to commemorate this once in 4 years occurrence, Nike and Nike Sportswear have appointed a few regional artists to create special CO-LAB collection for some of the leading national teams to play this year. One such is the England National Team with captain John Terry and coach Fabio Capello.
For the England’s collection is British artist James Jarvis. Based on the iconic N98 Track Jacket, which made its debut during the 1998 World Cup, the Nike CO-LAB N98 Track Jacket for Team England is in Varsity Red, comparable to the English national flower, the rose. On the left front panel is a special patch in Jarvis’ style – a crowned monster king domineering a soccer ball. On the rear, a large “England” designation, in Jarvis’ motif style, run across the upper back.
Aside from the James Jarvis’s collaboration, be on the look out for other artists in the World Cup theme Nike CO-LAB including Mister Cartoon, Delta, and more… The Nike Sportswear x James Jarvis – CO-LAB N98 Track Jacket for England is now available at NikeStore.com
