After an extremely successful, and quite honestly, a bedazzling run of (capsule) Trade Show in New York City where more than a 130 labels both renowned and up-and-coming have showcased what all can anticipate for Fall/Winter 2010, BPMW is back with a counterpart footwear trade show, COMPASS.
In its fourth season of running, COMPASS, has expanded rather significantly and has fast become a quintessential directional footwear trade show where a meticulously curated house of almost 100 labels will be showcasing the latest shifts and trends in the ever volatile and creatively revolutionary footwear industry.
To keep creative juices flowing, COMPASS has teamed up with jewelry sculptor, Gabriel Urist to create a limited edition COMPASS pendant which will function as the trade show entry badge (for (capsule), BPMW has also enlisted the help of Urist to create a capsule shaped pendant for the same use as well). The pendant this time is a daintily crafted loafer hanging off a leather necklace, keeping to the theme of footwear.
For those who are unfamiliar with Urist, the jeweler has created one-off pieces for celebrities and industry doyens alike– Kanye West and Spike Lee are both on the client list, just to name a quick couple. Also, Urist’s line of Nike kicks pendants (miniature gold and silver versions of kicks such as the Air Force 1 Dunks and just soles) should also serve as a quick memory jolt.
Check out the pendant and keep in mind that COMPASS is coming up very soon next week from Feb. 1 to Feb 2, showcasing brands such as Creative Recreation, F-Troupe, Dr. Martens, Keds, Palladium and Opening Ceremony.
