While Nike Sportswear dictates, “A Tiger Hunts Best When He Is Hungry”,it is quite difficult to imagine how one’s appetite for Chinese New Year goodies can’t be quelled after the release of Nike Sportswear’s Year of the Tiger Hoodie.
Designed to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year (which will also be the zodiac year of the Tiger), Nike Sportswear has introduced a pack of Year of the Tiger Cortez and matching hoodie for the occasion. While we had previously reported on the fresh tiger camouflage printed classic running Cortez, for the sneakerheads looking to match and complete their collection, we now have more detailed images and information on the Year of the Tiger hoodies. Available in two colorways (red orange and black and white), the hoodie sports an all-over camouflage print. Behold though, these are not your average military camouflage. The graphics are reworked from traditional Chinese landscape paintings (involving elements such as waves and mountains) and tigers are subtly blended into the camouflage as well. A colorful embroidery of a ferocious roaring tiger serves as the chest logo and the inside of the hood is printed with the festive motivational slogan “A Tiger Hunts Best When He’s Hungry”. The hoodies come housed individually in a special snap-shut tin box featuring matching camouflage prints in red. On one side of the box, a white Nike Sportswear logo brands the festive drop and the other side features Chinese characters meaning Year of the Tiger. The hoodies are now available for purchase via: the rmkstore, so for those who do intend to grab the speedy classic Cortez premium, don’t hesitate to have a run at the hoodies to match and start the new year afresh. images via: rmkstore
