Some sartorial rules are meant to be broken for better and more creative living– silver can be worn with gold, and navy doesn’t have to stay away from black. This season, progressive fashion’s favorite hipster duo, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim from http://openingceremony.us”>Opening Ceremony challenges all to break the seasonal taboo and wear some cords for summer. Opening Ceremony had collaborated with the quintessential Americana denim maker,http://levis.com”> Levi’s, to create a capsule collection of corduroy items. The collaboration, http://freshnessmag.com/2010/01/11/levis-x-opening-ceremony-spring-2010-capsule-collection/”>as previously reported, aims to reinvent both companies’ histories with a line-up of unisex pants in fine-wale fabrication, corduroy shirts and jean jackets (in both denim and corduroy fabrics). The fitted pants come in eight swatches of colors for every possible tinge of fancy. The lookbook, shot by Ryan McGinley exudes a sense of wonderful lightness of being, successfully depicting the sense of freedom Levi’s is known for. Check out the video created for the collection and also get a feel of some of the looks from the collaboration which is set to release this month.
