Last summer, the designated purveyor of urban cool in northeast Asia, http://freshnessmag.com/2009/07/04/new-project-center-store-opening-shanghai-china/”>New Project Center (NPC), just opened its doors in the international trade and cultural epicenter of Shanghai. With an overwhelming response and an almost immediate capture of fans, the store was quick to expand its retail prowess to other parts of the mainland, with the Beijing store opening just last Saturday. The new http://newprojectcenter.com”>NPC is housed in the San Li Tun gardens of the Zhao Yang district in the capital of China. To celebrate the opening and also the unveiling of toymaker Michael Lau’s Gardener 10th exhibition, the store had been revamped into a garden of blossoming greens and has also invited numerous celebrities and major industry players to its grand opening. The soulful crooner JJ Lin and owners Wilber Pan and Cheng Li were both present at the opening alongside Michael Lau. In terms of automobile participation, a lineup of Gerraris flanked the store in a formidably cool battalion.
Just like NPC Shanghai, NPC Beijing carries coveted lines such as a wide selection of Nike Sportswear goods, designer toys by Michael Lau, G-Shock and more. While the walls and floors have been paved with grass patches that created an interesting contrast against the store’s modern stainless steel displays, the walls have been lined with plastic casings of Michael Lau’s curated collection of toys for the exhibition. The exhibition is due to run for a week, so those who happen to be in town during this time should definitely try to brave the Beijing chills and check out both the store and Michael Lau’s work. images via: http://nike.com/nikeos/p/sportswear/zh_CN/view_post?country=CN&lang_locale=zh_CN&blog=zh_CN&post=zh_CN/2010/02/09/npc-bj-opening”>Nike Sportswear CN
