Named after David Brown, owner of the British car marker Aston Martin for the better part of its history, the venerable DB9 feature distinctive signatures of 2 great car designers, Ian Callum, who went on to become the Design Director for Martin's rival Jaguar, and Henrik Fisker, who established his own car company recently. One of the few cars in the world that is still made-to-order, the bespoke approach of Aston Martin made it and its products highly prized by car enthusiasts. The same approach was applied in the recent collaboration between Nike and the Warwickshire-base auto maker. Based on the Nike Hyperdunk, the Kobe Bryant Aston Martin DB9 Edition featured a premium leather upper in titanium-silver. Inside lined with orange-red perforated leather, the identical composition of the real-life DB9 Convertible of which Kobe Bryant jumped over in a highly publicized viral video (see below). Numbered at around 500 pairs, the Kobe Bryant Aston Martin DB9 Edition Hyperdunk will be available at selected Nike retailers in the coming month.
