Inspired by Sex Pistols (the quintessential British punk rock band of the late seventies) and its live tour, “Filthy Lucre” which was a musical reaction against ill gains of capitalism and the rich, Japan’s NEIGHBORHOOD created Luker by Neighborhood, as an ode to the musical anarchy against illegal profits. The collection features graphics and silhouettes inspired by such a theme and time, and thus has deep seated British punk-rock roots infused into a Japanese design sensibility.
Fresh from Luker by Neighborhood is a series of collaborative items with Dickies for Spring/Summer 2010. The work-wear inspired capsule collection includes a black and olive cropped work pants, vest and work jacket emblazoned with “LK77” in embroidery and questions “Too much, Too young?” The pieces are cut to fit with a masculine edge, and the items feature the classic Dickies logo tag as well as a Dickies logo print lining. The pants are cropped to hit right around the ankle, and it has proven to be the new cuffed pants this season for men who do enjoy giving their mid-tops and high-tops the light of day. The collection is now available online at zozotown and perfect for the rugged urban man.
