What better method to express the fluidity of motion when one wears an article of clothing than through dance - an idea conveyed clearly by Magnus Berger of The Last Magazine. The art journal recently documented an unique dance movement specifically created with Y-3. Dubbed The Third Wave and choreographed by New York City Ballet's principal dancer Benjamin Millepied, the movement is a quick succession of interlocked bodies, tucked and pulled as if they were ocean waves themselves. In order to capture the velocity of the dancers, the film was shot at 100 frames per second. And to fully appreciate the poetic motions, dancers wore Y-3 items in contrast black and white to better stand out in the already grey scale film.
Still images from the film will appear on the The Last Magazine's latest issue while the film will be presented at all Y-3 boutiques worldwide.
