RANSOM By adidas Originals – Spring/Summer 2010 – Pier | Valley | Curb

After the successful debut of the highly anticipated collaborative collection by Canada’s RANSOM and adidas Originals, the duo returns for a second season with the same vigor and aesthetics with a little warm weather twist for hotter months. While we had previously noted the release of some silhouettes such as the Dune, the Valley and the Bluff at select retailers, this weekend marks the drop of some other fresh and updated silhouettes in the collection.

One of the fresh low-top models of the season include the well-rounded Pier crafted from what seems like a rough canvas or raffia weave that will provide ventilation for the warmer months. Unlike classic tennis low tops, RANSOM’s rendition is slightly chunkier and hence falls in line with the label’s outdoor masculine vibes.   Aside from the Pier, the low-top Curb is available in two colorways, black suede and another mixing navy leather with suede which creates tonal and textural depth.

Some old players reworked in new material for the new season include the Valley series, where the Valley Low is now dressed in a tough but brightly colored rip-stop nylon and the hi-top Valley continues to be made from premium leather– for the more traditional sneakerheads who enjoy a good pair of leather sneakers in classic colorways of black or red.

These kicks are set to drop this Friday at Taipei’s INVINCIBLE EAST, so mark your calendars if you were planning to grab a light pair of low-tops for long summer walks.
