Straddled between the world of performance driven and stylish aesthetics, designer Yohji Yamamoto has the unenviable task of finding a perfect balance between both. Yet as he proven season after season, that he could find that perfect symmetry almost effortlessly in his Y-3 venture with adidas. Needless to say, that same dissertation translated onto Y-3’s sneaker collection for Spring/Summer 2010. Taken hints from the all important FIFA World Cup this year, the collection dictated subtle hints of the label’s athletic influence and ever so slightly, spotlight its sporty heritage via its nomenclature (i.e. Sprint, Boxing, Track, and etc…) Not forget those consuming public looking for more urban-oriented style. Y-3 inputted several well-define street influence designs in both silhouette and colorways onto this season’s collection. All of which are available for purchase through Y-3 boutiques and online retail outlets such as ZOZOTOWN of Japan.
