maharisihi Fall/Winter 2010 Lookbook

When the living gets tough, the tough gets going. And U.K.’s maharisihi goes heavy duty with an Air Force inspired collection for its Fall/Winter 2010 line-up. The military theme continues from the label’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection, which incorporated as much army camouflage shades as there are vacation-ready Hawaiian hibiscus prints. While the current collection somewhat looks like an army man going home on leave, the Fall/Winter 2010 Lookbook is slightly more somber and rugged. Don’t expect to see slim, streamlined silhouettes that unforgiving even on the thinnest models, and don’t be surprised to find roomy, generously cut khakis, sweats, bombers, overcoats and jackets that are nothing short of masculine. However, don’t let the dusty, worn-in looks fool you. maharishi made used of some of the most luxurious fabrics and material in constructing the Fall/Winter 2010 line. Organic hemp, water-resistant and vintage washed cottons are used for the khaki and camouflage trousers and tops, meanwhile, Italian wool and melange wool and velvet are also worked in to give the rugged a little touch of luxury that is more felt than seen. In true military stealth tradition, the palette is muted and understated in neutrals but loyalty is marked with RAF blue highlights. Flight Jackets are worn with wool shirts and paired over loose chinos tucked into combat boots for the urban fighter. Military style webbing, zigzag stitching, emboridered patches, chambray and other details complete the collection as a whole.
