NIGO's BAPE hasn't been short of surprising moves and collaborations for seasons now. After a high profile and celebrated collaboration with VERBAL's jewelry line, AMBUSH, and another with Japanese electronics maker, Fujitsu, BAPE has turned to fishing gear and accessories maker, DAIWA, for an rather interesting collaborative collection called "A Fishing Ape". What happens when the Ape fishes? Aside from fishing accessories and gear such as fishing lures, the collection also offers a trendier and more urban take on apparel that caters to fishing. The apparel collection available for pre-order on BAPELAND thus far features BAPE's signature camouflage print on performance-tuned gear. Fishing vests with ample pockets for bait and what nots are revamped in BAPE camo, and the line-up also features a collection of convertible nylon jackets (some amped up with Gore-Tex shell for weatherproofing and waterproofing). To go along with the jackets which come in both regular cut and cropped versions, there are Gore-Tex chinos and matching camo fishing pants to choose from. For those who are trying to keep it more street than fish, BAPE's iconic shark parka has been remade into a fishing version that is co-branded and sports the matching A Fishing Ape camo print. In terms of accessories, BAPE takes this season's street dandy vibes to fishing hats and replaces the bucket fishing hat silhouette with a gentleman's hat. And for performance purposes, the accessories line also includes sunglasses to protect your eyes from the harmful UV rays. The collection is available for pre-order now and is set to deliver in mid September, so mark your calendars accordingly if fishing is a part of your fall itinerary.
