Nike SB – April 2010 – Apparel and Accessories Releases

By - April 1st, 2010

Ahoy! Anchors away! Sure, skateboarding is not surfing, but since skateboarding stemmed from boardwalk culture, it is definitely appropriate for Nike SB to theme their April 2010 apparel and accessories release to the nautical. While last month it was all about the Outerspace (in conjunction with the Omar Salazar signature model release), this month it is all about the seafarers. Nautical motifs such as flags, stripes and coordinates (SB 0R.01) marked the graphic t-shirts, and street ready nylon jackets take on a weightier responsibility as “Life Jackets”.

Anchors, striped polos and hoodies and caps featuring embroidered flags add on to the maritime theme. One of the stand out t-shirts is the SB Holdin’ It Down which features a rather ornate drawing of an anchor featuring an inspirational phrase “Holdin’ It Down”. In the April 2010 collection, no naval details are left uncovered as even the Nike SB socks feature the same “SB 0R.01″ coordinates and flags as seen on the other apparel. For those who are looking for something a little outside the seafarer’s gear, there is a photographic Chet Travel t-shirt and a simple Nike SB Circle t-shirt which features the alphabets “SKATEBOARDING” arranged in a circular pattern. The collection is available at Nike SB retailers, so if you are feeling a little nautical and would like to bring the waters into the city while you skate, do remember pay them a visit at the stores.

Awesome designs! I run a small indie apparel brand called eightyfive. We design clean and simple designs and love to see this kind of stuff.
