Talk about a sneaker with multiple personalities, the Air Jordan Spiz’ike was most likely the brainchild of some mad scientist within the Nike facility. By fusing favorite elements from Air Jordan III, IV, V, and VI, the Air Jordan Spiz’ike could be counted as one of the early “fusion” concept from Nike. However, not only was its design concept ahead of its time, so was the charitable intent with all sales proceeds to Spike Lee’s Alma Mater, Morehouse College. Now, 4 years since its original launch, the sneaker is now a celebrated addition to the Air Jordan lineup.
This Spring, Jordan Brand is reviving the Spiz’ike franchise with 3 of the original colorways: the white/fire-red edition (aka Mars Blackmon) inspired by the original colorways of Air Jordan III, the black/cement-grey edition inspired by Air Jordan IV, and finally the “grape” edition inspired by Air Jordan V. All 3 colorways are now available at Jordan Brand retail outlets around the world as well as NikeStore.com
