Mr. Todd Selby of The Selby might have started off his trail of fame by photographing creative types in their most comfortable and natural environment such as their homes, studios and offices. Through the years since The Selby started in June 2008, Todd Selby had not only photographed homes and spaces of famed industry makers and tastemakers such as Nike’s Fraser Cooke, Baby Mary of Faline in Tokyo and Lucas Ossendrijver of Lanvin, but he had also been engaged to help shoot marketing and advertising campaigns for clients such as Nike 6.0 and Habitat, but he had also recently released his very own book The Selby Is In Your Place, and has fast become an alternative interior decorating guru for many.
One of The Selby’s latest collaborative projects is with CONVERSE on the heritage footwear label’s iconic Jack Purcell. The Selby photographed various important up-and-coming and younger players in the creative industry such as Charlie Casley-Hayford (son of the father and son duo behind British menswear label, Casley-Hayford), young Clark James Gable (whose grandfather was famous actor Clark James Gable) and Harry McNally of the playful NYC label, Pegleg NYC. The energetic and wildly creative group are photographed in their cities, homes and creative spaces wearing the iconic Jack Purcell. A wonderful campaign to bring the Purcell back into the spotlight, check out the behind-the-scenes video and stay tuned for the actual campaign! Watch the video here.
