An elaboration between all that are rustic and urban, Japanese designers Shinsuke Kojima and Motoki Kawanabe’ inclusion of the third tenet authenticity, have all made Waste(twice)’s, their label, designs much sought after in Tokyo. This season, headwear maker New Era joins the like of Russell Moccasin Company and Rocky Mountain Featherbed, both of which enjoy of an extensive partnership with Waste(twice), in creating the 8-Panel Baseball Cap.
Often associated with contemporary urban culture, New Era nevertheless, retained a certain amount of reverence with its 90-year history. A quick look at its archive, Kojima and Kawanabe found a design which reflected the core concepts of Waste(twice), a 8-panel baseball cap in worsted wool. Weaved loosely and without the rigid silhouette, the construct allowed aeration plus a certain casualness in its appearance. Embroidered on front a large “W” in white as in the Waste(twice) logo. Now on sale at all Waste(twice) retail locations in Japan, including Cueve of ZOZO shopping network.
