Each year when summer rolls around, things start to get a little more mesh-able. As the weather gets warmer, people start to look for more ventilated solutions on their footwear to prevent the whiff of embarrassment that might follow taking off the shoes. This season, mesh has been popping up on kicks across adidas in different forms, first in the Superstar 80 from adidas Originals by Originals kzk x CLOT, then in adidas SLVR. The other one-third of the adidas ObyO group, James Bond for David Beckham, has also just released a new pair of kicks in the same airy mesh upper. The Tennis Vintage high takes the classic, more casual low-top tennis shoe and gives it a dressier, tougher edge with a higher silhouette.
Like the other James Bond for David Beckham items, the Tennis Vintage Hi delivers a sense of American simplicity in black and white. The black mesh/leather upper is remixed with white stripes, toe and mid soles. Basic and sophisticated yet casual with a subtle twist, the new shoes should be worn with shorts in the summer to shoe do the high-top silhouette justice. The shoes are now available at select retailers such as VA.
