The Nike Match Classic, the 80s tennis classic isn't exactly one of the most high profile silhouettes as compared to the Dunks or the AF1, perhaps partly because it is extremely simple and understated, thanks to its tennis roots. However, because of its understated simplicity, it caught the eyes of Hiroshi Fujiwara of fragment design when he visited the Nike headquarters in Oregon. The clean and minimal low-top was not only perfect for fragment design's penchant for an uncluttered functional simplicity, but it is also perfect for Fujiwara's fixed gear riding. As such, the Nike Match Classic became the silhouette of choice for a triple collaboration between fragment design, UNDERCOVER and Nike.
The new collection of Nike Match Classic is kept simple and uncluttered in five monochrome shades. The pack comes with more toned down shades of orange, green, yellow and the classic black and white. Even though this is a three-way collaboration, branding remains rather discreet and exist only as prints on the midsole. These Match Classics are quite perfect for those who like to keep their sneakers sophisticated and clean without losing a touch of colorful energy. They are available exclusively in Europe at colette and Dover Street Market.via: dazed digital
