With a penchant for art, Pierre Hardy’s sneakers are born out of a cradle of concept different from other sneakers. After the successful fifth installation of his limited edition artistic sneaker series, the Nubuckorama as inspired by the stained glass aesthetics from Gilbert & George paintings, the upcoming sixth installation of the limited edition sneakers pays tribute to graffiti art. Like the his other sneakers, Pierre Hardy is known for turning his inspirations into color blocks, and this time, it is no different.
Drawing inspiration from graffiti tags, the new sneakers are extremely energetic and and lines zigzag across the sneakers with zest. Bright colors and intertwining lines are slightly reminiscent of the late Keith Haring’s work. The sneakers are crafted from overlaying panels of colorful Nubuck leather panel contrasted with black patent leather piping. These hi-top sneakers are unisex and come with both Velcro strap and laces. These are due to drop at selected boutiques such as Paris’ colette and New York’s Jeffery’s worldwide in June. But, if these are right up your alley, be quick about them because only 500 are produced worldwide, and everyone can use a good pair of wearable art.
