Carhartt x Charge Single/Fixed Bicycle

Perhaps the winning dream of cyclists everywhere, heritage workwear company http://carhartt.com”>Carhartt (or the stylish street wear label, as you please) has teamed up with UK’s bicycle company, http://chargebikes.com”>Charge, to produce a single/fixed gear bicycle. Yes, just as you suspect, this is a bicycle that can be easily converted from a single-speed to a fixed gear and vice versa.

For those on the stateside who are not quite acquainted with Charge, UK’s Charge is one of the most coveted bicycle makers specializing in everything bike related, purveying all your hard and soft goods needs. Charge possess a deep passion for urban cycling culture and it values above all, quality, simplicity and function. Its bicycles, whether fixed gear or otherwise, are uncompromising on function and aesthetics, and matches its quality with sophisticated, contemporary style. Charge builds all its bicycles with the highest quality parts and each bike is fitted with custom-built tub sets from renowned tubing specialists, Tange. These bikes are then paired with a range of frames– titanium mountain, road or fixed gear to suit each rider’s unique needs.

The collaborative bike between Carhartt and Charge is relatively simple and muted, branded with the Carhartt name on the frame and conveys the tough-contemporary vibe Carhartt streetwear is beloved for. As per mentioned, this is a fusion between a single-speed and a fixed gear, and the way to transform the bike from one to another is done simply by turning around the back wheel, which comes with a flip flop hub that contains single speed mechanics on one side, and fixed gear on the other. So, after turning the back wheel around and removing the brakes, one can convert the bike into a fixed gear ride.

Another note-worthy point is the use of the multi-award winning Spoon saddle. The Spoon saddle is known for its unparalleled comfort and versatility which will help riders go the distance without feeling squashed or irritated (can we say the name does convey the level of comfort the saddle can provide?). Other features include the Charge Plug 700c Chromoly Frame, Charge Spit Raise Bar, Original Carhartt Grips, Masher Chain and Eclat Surge PC Pedals.

The bike will be available in three sizes, S, M, L, and will come in a glossy, opulent dark brown as shown.
