Sometimes, when trapped in the sneaker world of sensory overload when each sneaker is trying to be bigger and louder than the next, a simple pair of grey kicks can come as a breathe of refreshing air that is perfect for the steamy summer months (eventually heavy black and red leather sneakers will get to the best of us when it is about 100 degrees out). As such, the return of the HUF x adidas Consortium series is a timely release for those of us who would like our feet to look (and hence, feel) a little bit cooler.
For those who have been following HUF’s upcoming footwear collection debut, this pair will definitely tide one over for the wait of the Fall/Winter 2010 drop. The grey suede Rod Laver Vintage low-top sneakers are done up in HUF’s iconic simple style with muted shades accompanied by a pop of color. In this case, the all-over perforated grey suede upper is contrasted with a cooling grass green lining, and sitting atop crisp white soles. Wear with your chinos, linen shorts or jeans (if one can still stand denim in this heat), and a simple tee or button down to avoid feeling overwhelmed in the humidity. These are set to drop at adidas Consortium retailers such as VA on May 15.
