Burton x adidas Originals – Footwears + Sneakers | Detailed Look

By - May 7th, 2010

The great outdoor has never been this vibrant.   Introducing adidas Originals‘ latest project, a collaboration with snowboard giant Burton, the limited collection for Fall/Winter 2010 is one of utilitarian aesthetics. A key question addressed was how to fill that transition period between a wild run on the slope and restful recoup time in the lounge. Certainly, this partnership was the solution. As adidas Originals Vice President, Ben Pruess, recently stated “Burton was the one and only choice for us when we decided to transform our product from the street to the slopes.”

With a wide range of talents, design fundamentals, and raw materials at their disposal, the creative teams from both companies had the perfect synergy, with enough room to explore the possibilities.   The result, a collection of 21 apparel models and 7 footwear, all centralized on functionalities on or off the slope, as with these sneakers and boots.   Composed from premium leather and suede, each silhouette brilliant played on the classic shapes and forms of adidas Originals.   Interjected between the familiar shell-toe cap and hints of Trefoil, an elaboration of Burton’s elements in construction: D-rings eyelets, brushed insulation, stash pockets for trinkets or loose changes, fully rubberized welt to keep the elements out, and more…

The Burton x adidas Originals Capsule Collection will be available at select retail locations starting in August, perfectly timed for the arrival of Fall and Winter.
