It seems like running shoes these days either come in vintage revivals (which are often slightly less performance oriented than the new blood administered with the latest technology), or futuristic models that thrive on some kind of silver with some kind of bright shades in an attempt to "mix it up" a bit. Sure, skateboarders and those who thrive on lifestyle kicks may have all the cool color options out there, and all the creative hybrids, but runners need attention too, and Nike is absolutely aware of this demand. On top of the recently released colorful Nike Air Rift and Nike Lunar Chukkah Woven, the sportswear giant has decided to give the Nike MS87 a sophisticated make-over.
The MS87 definitely carries the classic Nike running DNA and uncannily resembles a mix between the Nike Air Pegasus '89 and the Nike Air Epic. This time around, the upper is a generous and opulent mix of black in various material ranging from reptilian print leather to patent leather and fabric. A white Swoosh, midsoles and red accents grounds the sneakers in its casual roots, but with a tan outsole, the sneakers are youthful yet mature and restrained in colorway. The new Nike MS87 is currently available for pre-order via Crooked Tongues, so check them out and judge for yourself.
