This season, Massachusetts heritage label who had brought us some of the best down jackets and outerwear is updating their Spring/Summer 2010 shirt collection of classic fabric with new silhouettes. For Penfield’s time out in the sun, plaids, chambray and classic oxfords take center stage in both long and short-sleeved versions.
Aside from the handy short-sleeved plaid button downs like the Saxton and the Alameda, some stand out pieces include the anorak-like zip-up Campbell chambray shirt that can also moonlight as a light jacket in its spare time. In the anorak-family, the Anzak is an interesting hooded gingham shirt which, like the Campbell can double as a jacket as well.
Last but not least, every well-dressed man needs a good oxford in his closet for the summer, so Penfield has that taken care of with the Newhall and Kerman (they each have one and two pockets respectively). While the Newhall stays orthodox with classic contrast oxford lining, the Kerman is slightly more playful with a contrast gingham lining.
All shirts are currently available online via Penfield, so check out the full collection and all colorways available over there.
