This is not Gourmet’s first foray into apparel, but this is perhaps the biggest step footwear maker http://gourmetinyourface.com”>Gourmet has taken in the real of clothing. This summer, Gourmet has partnered up with the personification of beloved California-cool (or shall we say, Cali-rad to be slightly cheesy but appropriate?), http://warriorsofradness.com”>Warriors of Radness, to create an aquamarine collection of sneakers and clothes fit for any activity water-related and beyond.
The collection, aptly named “Marina del Rey” after the seaside area of Southern California, is quite the sartorial rendition of summer casual. Turquoise, whites, greys and khakis make up the simple, cooling palette for the collection. T-shirts and tanks are either kept simple with photograph graphics, logos or nautical stripes. For this collection, aside from the elastic khaki pants, all shorts are cut a little closer to hit a mid-thigh, bringing a little retro-surf vibe back into the world dominated by near calf-length board shorts, rallying that length does not determine masculinity.
Since this is a collaboration with Gourmet, who is known for creating scrumptious sneakers that are the excellence equivalent of fine Italian cuisine (need we mention how great Italian shoes are as well?), a little spiel about sneakers is in order. The collaborative collection sports a pair of plimsoll-shaped lace-up low-tops rendered in light canvas in stripes both horizontal and vertical paired with turquoise lining for a casual summery look.
A collection determined to go together and be mixed and matched from within (but they would work just as seamlessly with the rest of your closet as well as long as they are season and occasion appropriate), these are now available for purchase online at Warriors of Radness.
