Talents are hard to come by, and sadly, some of them often expire way too soon for our liking, create an irrevocable void in the world and our lives. While Love & Guts is essentially an art show, it is more so a homage to skateboarding legends who have departed too early. Presented by Oakley, Trasher and Juxtapoz, Love & Guts was first conceived in 2005 and had since then expanded in scope and magnitude, garnered help and participation from more and more creative souls in the industry.
This year, Love & Guts: Eyes Wide Open is finally reaching the mecca of streets skating, New York City, and the art show couldn’t be more fitting for the locale. Featuring skating legends such as Lance Mountain, Pat Ngoho, Steve Caballero and Steve Olson, the show also goes on to include more who have made an impact in the industry from both the past and the present. The exhibition will open this Friday at Red Bull Space in New York City, and music will be provided by DJ Taryn Manning while drinks will be on Red Bull.
Check out video clips of Lance Mountain, Pat Ngoho, Steve Caballero and Steve Olson from the highly acclaimed Make It Count films by Element, and do find some time to drop by, reconnect with those who have left and appreciate them for their contribution to the skating game.
