It has been a few weeks since Maestro Knows embarked on the Tour de Maestro journey, following adidas adiCup and jetsetting through cities around the world, documenting the fiery competition that both fuels and is fueled by the 2010 FIFA World Cup fever, and bringing those of use stuck in front of the computer little vicarious gratifications to summer wanderlusts. After having visited New York and Tokyo, Maestro has landed in Deutshland’s Berlin, and spent a sunny day with 16 creative teams who have come out of their shaded dwellings and into the sun for a chance to attend the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
A few things to take away from this competition– do not mess with soccer playing Germans (and in case you didn’t know, Germany murdered Australia 4-0), No. 74 is a must visit (especially the Lionel Messi shrine which has been erected in the back), and there is no better place to be for some summer World Cup action than Bar 25 when in Berlin. Enjoy at your own risk, because this might just inspire you to drop everything, pack up a suitecase and leave–and you may never come back.
