Last year, it was all about reviving the classics, and the chukkah and desert boots made their way onto the runway and into the urban streets, gaining new lives in a brand new setting. This year, it is about pushing the envelope and seeing what can be done to update the reprisal we so loved last year. As previewed earlier in the year, when Freshness paid the Asics Fall/Winter 2010 Showroom a visit, we spotted these holey Onitsuka Tiger Tween Chukkah. The extended lace placket which wraps halfway around the ankle in a quirky fashion (who ever determined that functionality is the king of of design can reconsider his stance because sometimes, things are just mean to look good) became quite a hit with sneakerheads and footwear fanatics who are constantly seeking to be surprised. Finally, these kicks have hit stores and are prepped and ready for some action.
While the versions we previewed were rendered in neutral soft grain leather, the versions available for order now on Flauge is a colorful suede rendition. The Tweeny Chukkah comes in two colorways, a tonal purple and a tonal green. Both are bound to give your fall wardrobe a splash of color that will match whichever pile of leaves you are determined to trek through, or your favorite brown corduroy pants which have finally made a comeback as a dorky, hipster chic item.
