There is no denying that http://converse.com”>CONVERSE is deeply rooted in music. The musician-approved Chuck Taylors All Star has witnessed some of the greatest music moments first hand, from the first person point of view. While being a more active observer is fun as it is, Converse has been taking more initiative in exploring other ways to get involved in the industry which has quickly adopted what was originally designed as a basketball sneaker into its own, transforming the shoe from a functional item into something that is a cultural icon. This summer, Converse is not only hosting a series of concerts on New York City’s Governor’s Island (last weekend the island was filled with folks who had traveled across waters to listen to the Morning Benders, Freelance Whales and Wild Nothing), but is also embarking on a music collaboration project named “Three Artists. One Song”.
“Three Artists. One Song.” is a project which aims to recruit three extraordinary musicians of today to collaborate and fuse their varied styles onto one unique track. This summer, the original track will be created by http://kidcudi.com”>Kid Cudi, http://myspace.com/bestycoasty”>Best Coast andhttp://myspace.com/rostambatmanglij”> Rostam Batmanglij. To celebrate and prep for the release of the final track, Converse will also be releasing a three-part video documenting each artist who has participated in the creation of this sonic collage.
First up is a video featuring Bethany from lo-fi Best Coast. In the video, Bethany talks about her inspirations, her favorite part about performing and making music, and the sunny California weather, as she and her band explores Hamburg on their European tour.
