As the story goes, Patrick Boivin started with "When I was a kid, there are two things I wanted badly and never got... A real dog and a Kenner AT-AT Walker..." And so is the premise behind his latest project AT-AT Day Afternoon, a play-on-words on Sidney Lumet's classic Dog Day Afternoon. However, don't mistake Boivin's title as a parody. AT-AT Day Afternoon is a carefully crafted stop-motion short film, which depicts an antiquated Star Wars toy as a pet. Aside from flesh and bone, the injected mold plastic counterpart does everything frolicking in the sun, chasing squirrels, and other more unmentionable acts. What's more, Canada-base filmmaker never went to film school and is completely self-taught. Enjoy!
