The crowd dissipated a while ago, so have the premonitions of glory or the loud taunts from the opponents. What is not gone, however, from St. Alfreds x Nike Sportswear Six Points space in Chicago are the decorative soccer balls by artists Cody Hudson, Mister Cartoon, and Dzine. Perhaps the term “decorative” is wrong description since each ball serves a higher purpose, to help support Urban Initiatives, a Chicago-base organization which utilize the interest for soccer as an instrument to connect with disenfranchised youth of Chicago’s inner cities. A total of 13 created, each played on the 3 artists’ signature. There are the over-top bejeweled and embellished by Dzine. A simple creation based on Zakumi, the mascot of FIFA World Cup in South Africa, along with linear exploration of Cody Hudson.
