Perhaps one of the biggest causes of celebration this week comes from the hopeful news of BP containing the ridiculous oil spill. Since Thursday, when new caps on the valves are closed, there has been no report of oil leaking into the Gulf anymore. Finally, an epic disaster comes to a seeming resolution. While exploring the concept of corporate responsibility, Philip Morris has been exposed to be using child laborers in Kazakhstan, giving non-smokers more reason to dislike the carcinogenic company. Perhaps, some Philip Morris consumers will be rallying for ethical smokes? Regardless, in a slightly more frivolous world of kicks and fashion, (and on a more lighthearted note) labels have been fulfilling their corporate duties by releasing first looks into next season’s collections. For instance, adidas Originals by Originals have finally dropped the looks that will be hitting racks in August and so did Vans, and so on and so forth. Check out some key things that happened this week, and be sure you are staying on top of things!

VANS – Fall/Winter 2010 – OTW Collection
Think about it as street style and skates all grown up. But not grown up so much that you can’t play around in them anymore. VANS finds the middle ground between VANS Classics and VANS Vault with the new OTW Collection. Enjoy!
Swedish House Mafia – One (Your Name) Ft. Pharrell Williams | Video
The coolest Stockholm house DJ trio has just roped in Pharrell for their biggest summer club hit, One, and turned it into One (Your Name) Ft. Pharrell. A trippy video that makes us believe…perhaps, we should all get to know people’s names before they kill us.
Supra – Fall 2010 – Signature Collection
A complete look at the Supra family’s latest collection drop, this season, Supra makes use of interesting prints and material to create quasi-futuristic bundle of kicks. Shiny leather with white speckles look something like the night sky? Or does the satin all-black high-top remind you more of the milky way? Or, if you are going a little retro, tie-dye is perhaps the way to go.
Did you know that Oakley began from bicycle handle bars and the cool goggles actually came later? If you didn’t, it’s high time to check out our even recap.
