Today, New York City has once again hit the steaming 90s. 90s, in terms of Fahrenheit, not the decade. And in the huge sauna teeming with trapped heat and palpable humidity, English Premier League Football Club, Manchester City F.C., has flown into New York City and played an afternoon of soccer with both Manchester City fans and some local New York City soccer fanatics at the Sarah D. Roosevelt Park on the Lower East Side. Yes, goal keeper for England at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Joe Hart, was present to keep the goals safe as well. The team happens to be donning their new Manchester City Away Kit by Umbro.
The new jersey spotted on the players in the dark navy color inspired by "Dark Side of the Moon" (the Blue Moon is a symbol for the Manchester City F.C.) has been redesigned by Umbro to ergonomically fit the players and cater to their ever bend, race, push and pull. Also, drawing from the base layer technology, the new jersey is made out of various technical fabrics designed to increase ventilation and aid performance. The classic v-neck drill top also has a flash of sky blue to remind the team a little bit of home when they are away (the home color is sky blue), while also showcasing Umbro's layering principal behind the shirt. Check out our event recap, and stay tuned for more news to come from Umbro this weekend!
