Lupe Fiasco certainly is in need of a hit. He hasn’t been a major player on the music scene in a while, and he responds with a whimsical freestyle that features lyrics that may or may not be included on an album that may or may not be released this year, tentatively entitled Lasers. Perhaps this freestyle is meant to get Lupe back in the conversation, but whatever the motivation, the flow hits hard and has a Little Wayne feel to it, which isn’t a bad thing. Check the link below to hear this new Lupe track that may just be strong enough to remind many of his smooth delivery and dexterous style.

it’s not a “whimsical” single it’s not even his own track it’s a freestyle over rick ross’ new song you moron
you know this isn’t a single right? it’s just a freestyle.

Lupe is actually “deeper than rap.” I am not sure if he is interested in a radio hit. He is obviously trying to speak more freely than major labels are would allow him. The money is in the gigs anyway. Pay attention to his words and leave the market value talk for someone else.
