For the past two years, Casio G-Shock has brought New York City one of the most its sought after events for the summer– Shock The World Tour. For the inauguration year and last year, Kanye West took his psychedelic robotic voice and dazzling performance to the Shock The World stage. This year, West is succeeded by one of the most fiery and spirited artists, Ke$ha, famed for making P. Diddy a metaphor in hit club track “Tik-Tok” and prior to that, for being the telegenic voice on Flo-Rida’s “Right Round”. Shock The World turned out to be an all-day fanfare at the spacious Manhattan Civic Center in midtown this past Monday, with a press conference giving the industry insiders a look into what’s happening and new and upcoming with Casio Timepiece, followed by an after party headlining the new face of Baby-G, Ke$ha.
The press conference during the day was just as star-studded and affair as the party at night. Bryan Greenberg of HBO series How To Make It In America is the new spokesperson for Casio’s new timepiece line, Edifice, and Los Angeles Lakers’ forward, Lamar Odom, unveiled the new super-sized GX56 (almost twice as big as the classic DW5600), Stevie Williams of skateboard label DGK talked about his collaboration with G-Shock, and of course, Ke$ha was officially announced as the new face of Baby-G.
The afterparty, was as glittering as Ke$ha’s sparkling outfit and tremendous stage presence that night (where she performed hit songs from her latest album, Animal), attended by R&B singer Kelly Rowland, TV show host Wendy Williams, ‘The Bachelor” Pavelka Katrina Bowden, Tyson Beckford-Hunt, newly announced G-Shock ambassador Lamar Odom and his better half, Khloe Kardashian, and the other new Casio crew such as Bryan Greenberg and Stevie Williams.
Check out the event recap, live vicariously and stay tuned for more updates from Casio to come very soon!
