The clouds loom rather ominously over New York City today, pregnant with impending downpour. Luckily, all the clouds have done was to shelter the city from the sun, cooling the huge oven known as Manhattan for, if not, a split second, and surprisingly, made for a rather nice biking day. Sans sunshine and sweltering heat, heritage bicycle makers, Cannondale and Schwinn held their demo day at New York City’s Pier 54 by the river. The event showcased a line-up of the upcoming 2011 bicycles made for both men and women, both urban and beyond. Editors and cycling enthusiasts wandered out to the west side of the city and tested the new bicycles.
Aside from the 2011 line-up, at the event, there is also the limited edition Cannondale ON, which is made in a limited run of 250, with top-of-the-line everything including the Case Closed Technology. Another interesting thing to note about the Cannondale ON is that it is single sided, and the first of its kind. Check out some of the models previewed at the Demo Day and stay tuned for more detailed coverage to come.
