If this track from Lupe’s upcoming project called Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album is any indication of what’s in store, then fans and naysayers alike will have to stop and take notice. Atop a brooding, synth-heavy beat by 1500 or Nothin’, Lupe showcases his dexterity with a style reminiscent of Andre 3000’s latest efforts with a sort of monotone cadence with heavy inflection. The hook has a quasi-melodic, heavily filtered crooning to match the crescendo of the beat. Those who thought Lupe would fade into obscurity now have a bit of hope for what the new album will have in store. Check out the new track after the jump and remind yourself what Mr. Fiasco can bring to the mic.
