Ever so drawn to massive collaboration projects, Nike has invited not one, not two, but 78 artists to re-imagine the iconic Nike Air Max for its Nike78 project. However, this project is not just about finding new material and compiling a new colorway to appeal to the sneakerhead’s visual pleasure. This is about challenging the function of the shoes. Basically, questioning what else can your Air Max be if it is not not just a pair of shoes?
One of the invited artists, Nick Marsh, has decided to infuse his Air Max with a little Wii touch and turned them into balance board consoles. He took apart the internals of a Wii balance board, moved them into the shoes, and turns it into a device worthy of a gamer’s dream.
After adidas Originals released its Augmented Reality pack, and now this, is kicks and games the hot new successor to kicks and kids, or kicks and chicks?
