If http://warhol.org”>Andy Warhol did live to see the year 2000, Warhol and his “2,000” gang (the group of 20 guys including Warhol who joked about buying 2,000 bottles of http://domperignon.com”>Dom Pérignonand popping them open at the turn of the millennium) would have approved of Dom Pérignon’s fanfare last night at Villa Pacri and its nightclub, Tzigan, in the Meatpacking district. Dom Pérignon closed New York Fashion Week and celebrated the launch of http://freshnessmag.com/2010/07/22/andy-warhol-x-dom-perignon-a-tribute-to-andy-warhol-by-dom-perignon/”>”A Tribute to Andy Warhol” by Dom Pérignon with a delicious, ample flow of Dom Pérignon vintage 2000.
The fanfare was as star studded as attendees such as Nicky Hilton, Russell Simmons, Vera Wang, Swizz Beats, Minnie Mortimer, Jessica Szhor, Asher Roth and Evan Rachel Wood, sipped on the bubbly and were entertained by artist Peter Tunney who took personalized Polaroid pictures of guests that evening. Tzigan had also been transformed into a temporary mini-Warhol exhibit, as images and pieces reminiscent of his famous works like the Brillo and Campbell Soup Cans were displayed around the space.
Check out our recap of the evening, photography courtesy of famed fashion photographer, Patrick McMullan, and can we all raise our glasses and give a toast to Warhol and fashion. Viva la fashion indeed!
