The best word to describe Keiichi Tanaami’s works is “maddening”. A latticework of colors, silhouettes, and mediums, the Japanese legend pluralist ideals, from ascension to heaven depicted by Medieval murals to the hellish descends found on Tibetan sutras, you could never accept Tanaami’s paintings on face value along. In the instance you round about to the corner of one, a whole new perspective appears. The multitude of facets and definitions have also made Tanaami an icon to the new generation of artists, who could easily access the ideal since modern life equates to an overabundance of stimulants. To that, ART SEASONS Gallery of Singapore is offering a unique pairing between Singapore’s own :Phunk Studio and Keiichi Tanaami. Titled as :phunkTanaaMIX, the exhibition offers a mix and remix of cultures, religions, forms both familiar and not, to a series of paintings and screenprints. The exhibition will open its door this Friday, October 8th, with all the artists present for a special reception. The collaborative project will be on display till October 31st.
