Just only sometime ago, most viewed Deluxe as another run-in-the-mill streetwear label to come out of the alleyways of Harajuku, with its edgy graphic t-shirt and plucky apparel designs. How fast things changed. Within just a couple seasons, the Japanese label has become one of the most inventive. While quality remains its first priority, Deluxe and its designer, Hideki “Hue” Kimura, are both able to look for methods to incorporate the quick interpretations of trends found on the street. And in turn, keep Deluxe’s creations refreshing and unexpected each time. These ideals were put into practice this season as Kimura explored the 1950’s cool culture in the collection’s theme, the Rambler.
Headlined the November releases is the Deluxe x Schott Leather Motorcycle Jacket. A rendition of the Schott Perfecto, the jacket exemplify Kimura’s concept of merging the lowly streetwear, in whatever forms, with the high-brow luxury wear. The same could be say with its Boyle Leather Gloves. While shared the same form as a pair of traditional work gloves, its premium leather make speaks volume. These and other Deluxe Fall/Winter 2010 Collection are all available at Deluxe online store, authorized retailers across the globe, and its BRIDGE flagship store in Tokyo.
